Thursday, June 11th
As of right now, there are no class-specific plans for those who are able to arrive early. But when you RSVP, please indicate if you’re planning to arrive on Thursday and we’ll get all of you early birds in touch with each other – maybe the group of you can plan a gathering at the Red Herring (the artist formerly known as Canterbury’s) or Mezze (so sad that we can’t say The Pub!). Though there aren’t class-specific activities scheduled, there will be reunion lectures taking place on Thursday afternoon starting at 1:00 p.m. Be sure to check out the Reunion Lectures insert in this letter.
Friday, June 12th
Most of Friday is pretty unstructured – the perfect time to catch up with friends, walk around the campus and scope out all the new buildings, visit the Clark or Mass MoCA, or spend your day in Williamstown however you’d like. On Friday during the day, there will be more lectures featuring professors and alumni, so check out the schedule at
http://www.williams.edu/alumni/news/reunion/schedule.php and click on reunion weekend if you’re interested.
Friday evening we will have a
casual dinner in our tent behind Poker Flats. There have been rumors of beer pong tables, so we’ll investigate the possibilities. We’ll have music and beverages and people will be arriving all throughout the afternoon and evening. Get ready for an endless parade of hugs, how are yas, and happy reuniting... after all, that is what Reunion is all about!
Saturday, June 13th
Most of us were too enthusiastic in our reunion-ing at our 5th to have risen early enough that Saturday morning to march in the all-alumni
reunion parade. But those of us who staggered out for it were rewarded with a fabulous treat—it’s a wonderful tradition that connects us with the great Society of Alumni of which we are all members. And let’s not kid ourselves—the little old guys in straw hats celebrating their 50th are downright fabulous. We highly recommend it! In addition to this time-honored tradition, Saturday will feature informal games (wiffle ball, Frisbee, soccer) for those are interested. Lunch will be an
all-reunion BBQ on Chapin Lawn (formerly Baxter Lawn).
Saturday evening we will have a more
formal dinner under our tent at Poker Flats. Girls, bring your party dresses (but choose shoes accordingly for the lawn!); guys, bust out the ties and wingtips! After dinner, we'll hang under the tent for a rockin’ dance party with a live DJ and late-night Hot Tomatoes. Mmm...Hot Tomatoes...
Sunday, June 14th
Sunday morning will be your opportunity to relive your dining hall days at Mission Dining Hall for a farewell brunch. If we’re lucky, there may even be French Toast Nubs (think Greylock Brunch Night!). Relive the memories from the night before, swap cell numbers, pledge to follow each other on Twitter and friend each other on Facebook, then hit the road until 2014...
Golf
There’s nothing like playing the Taconic in June. The greens are just lovely this time of year. If you are interested in golfing while you’re at Reunion, please send an email to Matt Sigrist at msigrist@peckschool.org.
Children's Program
There are many events planned for Saturday for the next generation of Ephs. Click
here to view or download the schedule.
More details will be determined between now and June and we’ll share them here and on the
Facebook group Williams Class of 1999.
If you have any ideas of activities or events you’d like to help plan, please let us know!
